It is very exciting to be listed next to the greats like John Adorney, Diane Arkenstone, Omar Akram, and 2002! The review also proclaims that SYNESTHETIC is "without a doubt the most promising debut album in the New Age music genre since year 2000"... an amazing compliment indeed.

Check out excerpts from last Saturday's "Mangaldeep" concert at Houston Maharashtra Mandal's annual Diwali event. I accompanied Padmashri Padmaja Phenany-Joglekar on tabla.

I am bringing a brand-new radio show to WIUX — Pure Student Radio at Indiana University!
Instru-Mentality will be an hour-long program each Sunday morning featuring instrumental music from all around the world. You can stream the show by clicking here: WIUX B-Side Radio.
My goal with this program is to promote underrepresented music coming from talented composers all over the globe. There is such a wealth of material in the instrumental music industry that goes largely unnoticed because of the lack of attention on mainstream radio. I'm attempting to do my part to promote the music I am so passionate about through this broadcast.

Track 10 on the album is called "Underwater Rebirth" and is by far the most edgy track on this record. In this one you'll hear a combination of electronics and acoustics, including cello, piano, and bouzouki against a driving backbeat inspired by the synths of the disco age.

"A Prayer Like Velvet" is the ninth track on the album. This one is written in a time signature not often found in Western music (7/8), and features a unique ensemble of string instruments including the dulciborn, ektara, cello, sitar, oud, and saz.

The emotional peak of SYNESTHETIC is in a simple duet called "As the Water Lilies Grow."
This one is meant to be a conversation between the piano and the cello. This piece is a special one for me because I wrote it three years ago - it's thrilling to hear it come alive for the first time, as it was meant to be heard.
John Adorney was amazingly sensitive in the way he handled the cello part during the recording for this - you'll hear it on the CD!

Track 7 on SYNESTHETIC is Swansong. This one is a calming Baroque pop piece that features a prominent harpsichord part as well as dulcimers against a hip-hop style beat.

Track 6 on SYNESTHETIC.
Raining Fire is an intense orchestral rock piece featuring virtuosic electric guitar work by John Adorney. The piece ends with an extended solo that shows of John's amazing skills on the instrument. This is without a doubt the energetic climax of the album... you won't want to miss this teaser.

Track 5 on SYNESTHETIC is a special one — it's called "Bloomington Days."
Bloomington Days is a breezy piano-and-guitar piece featuring some stellar acoustic guitar work by John Adorney and some additional exotic sounds. (World music enthusiasts, watch out for a Chinese erhu and Japanese shakuhachi!) To all my fellow Hoosiers: this song is for you!

Gold & Silver is an epic piece that blends together a cinematic orchestra and an ethnic ensemble of Indian instruments including the tabla, sitar, santoor, and others. Indian music lovers will hear notes inspired by Raga Darbari Kanada. Enjoy a teaser of the song here:

Working with John Adorney for a whole month in Los Angeles this summer was a huge blessing. John is such a talented musician and incredible human being. Lucky to have such inspiring mentors in my life.
